Here is the patience of the saints, they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Mark 13:5-27 ASV - also note the phrase ‘…after that tribulation…’ and following. Are you keeping Yahweh’s, not necessarily Jewish, commandments? - msd What is the leaven in your life? What is corrupting you spiritual walk with Yahweh? Could it be a ‘who’ instead of a ‘what’? In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2 ASV Think about it… All men have sinned – Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin. John 12:49-50 ASV ‘… the just for the unjust…’ 1 Peter 3.18 kjv The True Vine - John 15:1 ASV I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. VWS 1 Joh 15:1 The true vine (ἡ ἄμπελος ἡ ἀληθινὴ) Literally, the vine, the true (vine). True, genuine, answering to the perfect ideal. See on Joh_1:9. The vine was a symbol of the ancient church. See the passages cited above, and Hos_10:1; Mat_21:33; Luk_13:6. Husbandman (γεωργός) From γῆ, the earth, and ἔργω, to work. The vine-dresser is ἀμπελουργός, occurring only at Luk_13:7; but the office of the vine-dresser is a subordinate one, while γεωργός may indicate the proprietor. See 2Ch_26:10 (Sept.), where the word is applied to King Uzziah. So of Noah, Gen_9:20. In Mat_21:33-41, the γεωργοὶ represent the chiefs and leaders of the Jews. Wyc., an earth-tiller. John 15:4 ASV Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. VWS Joh 15:4 Of itself (ἀφ' ἑαυτοῦ) Properly, from itself. See on Joh_7:17. No more can ye (οὕτως οὐδὲ ὑμεῖς) Literally, so neither can ye. So Rev. John 15:5 ASV I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing. VWS Joh 15:5 Without me (χωρὶς ἐμοῦ) Properly, apart from me. So Rev. Compare Joh_1:3; Eph_2:12. - msd These verses, from the Gospel of John, are from the discourse of Messiah with His disciples at the Last Supper.
